My design journey started back in high school, when I dabbled in amateur blogging and discovered I had way more fun tweaking my blog's look than for the actual content creation. This realization prompted me to study information systems to pursue a career in website design, which eventually led me to dive even deeper into digital product design.
Beyond designing the products themselves, I've become interested in design systems. For me, it’s a blend of design and information systems, all about connecting people and systems to make scalable and sustainable design happen in an effective way. My enthusiasm extends to design document management, where optimizing structures to align with our team's workflow and keep everyone in sync excites me.
Moreover, I came to a realization about my intrinsic desire to be a purposeful designer for people. This led me to immerse myself in learning about accessibility in digital product design, where, as Anna Zaremba highlights, design systems provide the perfect scaffolding for implementing accessibility practices across an entire product ecosystem.
If you share these interests or have an exciting opportunity for me, I'd love to connect and discuss more!
Cheers, Alya
